Here are some highlights from four weddings held at Marina Village, San Diego Rowing Club’s Garty Pavilion and Martin Johnson House. Sometimes active military mean that we can’t post all the wedding photos we’d like to, or the wedding was small and coverage didn’t include reception. Whatever the reason, we still like to share some favorites.

The Martin Johnson House is a historic oceanfront cottage nestled under lush cypress trees with breathtaking views of the Pacific coastline.
Built in 1916, the rustic cottage was one of the earliest additions to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus. Once used as a home for Scripps professors and their families, the refurbished cottage and grounds now offer a charming coastal setting ideal for social events ranging from business meetings to wedding receptions.

The open, airy locations are perfect for dramatic entrances…you may arrive by limo, antique automobile, or even horse-drawn carriage (we have referrals if you don’t have a company in mind). The natural beauty of the surrounding grounds sets the stage for stunning photographs; exchange your vows as the sun sets over the bay for an everlasting memory.
Marina Village is one of San Diego’s only event sites to offer waterfront banquet facilities with multiple views. Whether you are planning a small, intimate affair or a grand reception for 350 guests, our expert staff will help you select the perfect accommodation to suit your style and budget. Each room has its own unique features, some of which include vaulted ceilings and loft spaces, curved walls, built-in dance floors, and second-story views. Please feel free to stop by (though you may want to call ahead to make sure the rooms are not in use).
Once you reserve a room at Marina Village, the room is yours – no double-booking! Room access for decoration is at 11AM; tables & chairs will be arranged in your preferred layout (and broken down after your event). Your five-hour party time may go as late as midnight (this does not include setup/cleanup). Allowing your attendants, vendors and family members the luxury of arriving early to set up in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere only adds to the beauty of hosting your event at Marina Village.
